Hello EOBC Men & Friends,

Let me ask you a question: "Do you think that God wants you to enjoy, I mean really enjoy Him?"

You may not realize it, but it's been over a month since we crowded out one whole section of Uno's for our last Men's Ministry event. Time is flying, but I've got something in mind that will bring even more of us together and help us make our way through the daily battles of life as winners.
For those of you who were there at our last event, you may remember that I mentioned a book that I'd been reading that I wanted all of us to cover because of the tremendous potential it has to revolutionize our lives, families, church and community. Well, the time has come for us to kick off this great adventure.

I want to introduce you to the book, "The Dangerous Duty of Delight", by John Piper (or "D3" as I call it). I've read it twice now, as well as the longer version of the book, "Desiring God", and each time I look into it I'm reminded of how much more there is to life if we're looking in the right place and recognizing the amazing Treasure we have in our God. The primary challenge in the book is to live life as a "Christian hedonist" (doesn't that sound dangerous?)

 

When: Starting on Tuesday, August 12th, we're going to meet together (first night at EOBC; no telling where we'll show up next!) and have some fun, some snacks, and talk about this challenge and calling to enjoy God. We're going to meet from 7-8pm
